Abstract

The paper, prepared as part of the scienti c project “Corpus inscriptionum Rossicarum”, publishes a wall synodic, preserved in a photograph from the beginning of the XXth century from the Church of the Trinity in the village of Aristovo-Chirikovo (modern Yaroslavsky district of the Yaroslavl region), built in 1681 at the expense of the ocol'nichiy Andrey Ivanovich Chirikov (CIR4116). This epigraphic monument contains the names of the direct relatives of the church-builder, people from his entourage, as well as people not related to him by kinship or service. The list of names of the relatives of the church-builder in the synodic is from his great-great-grandfather Andrey Chirikov Semyen-Gnevash Semyenovich and ends the daughters of his brother Mikhail Ivanovich. The identi cation of these names, recreated on the basis of a generational painting by the Chirikovy, submitted to the Chamber of Genealogical Affairs in the second half of the 17th century, made it possible to supplement the genealogy of the family of the church builder. The synodic also includes the names of Tsarevich Vasily Mikhailovich, boyar Ilya Danilovich Miloslavskij and his wife Ekaterina Fedorovna, which made it possible to clarify the of cial ties of Andrei Chirikov. Unidenti ed names, apparently, belong to the people of the “house” of the temple builder. In general, this allows us to raise the question of an expanded understanding of the term “genus”, used in synods, as a group of people united with the creator not only by kinship, but also by of cial relations and belonging to a single household
