Abstract

Given to the Russian diplomat, the secretary-translator of the Russian embassy in France and the collector of book antiquities Peter Dubrovsky a Passport to leave the country, is one of the last documents signed by Louis XVI shortly before his overthrow. Printed form Passport with Dubrovsky's data entered there, allowing him to leave France through the border checkpoint in Lille, is at the same time a valuable handwritten document, since it contains both vizas and marks of French politicians of that time and ordinary employees of postal stations. This document allows to clarify the time and circumstances of the diplomat's departure from Paris, and follow his path to the Austrian Netherlands.
