Vol. 45 No. 1 (2026)
The first issue of the 45 volume of 2026 “Auxiliary Historical Disciplines” consists of four thematic sections. The first of them combines articles on various subjects related to the history of Russia: the first pages of the domestic paper production of Peter the Great are considered; the biography of the outstanding statesman of the first half of the 19th century Sergey S. Uvarov by the literary critic Petr I. Bartenev is published; the “peasant resolutions” is analyzed in the context of the history of the peasant community in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century; the legacy of academician Nikolay P. Likhachev continues to be investigated.
The second section consists of articles-publications of sources, based on reports made by participants in the scientific conference “Decembrists in the historical fate of Russia. To the 200th anniversary of the revolt on Senate Square (1825–2025)”, which took place on November 17–19, 2026 at the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Traditional articles on universal history and historiography complete the issue devoted to the reconstruction of the Byzantine code of the turn of the VIth-VIIth centuries Strategicon of Pseudo-Mauritius, and to the context of the presentation of the dissertation thesis by the Leningrad medievalist Valentina V. Stockmar in 1942. -

The final issue of volurne XLIV "Auxiliaгy Historical Disciplines" consists of four sections. The first one devoted to little-kпown rnaterials frorn the funds of the Scientific and Historical Archive of the St. Petersburg Institute of Histoгy of the Russian Acaderny of Sciences - the histoгy of rnilitaгy quartering in St. Peteгsburg of Peter I's tirne, and an unpuЫished collection of docurneпts on the history of Russian-Abkhazian relations iп the XIXth century. The second section cornbines two articles devoted to photography as а historical source, relyiпg on rnaterials frorn the funds of the collection ofN.P. Likhachev. The third part is devoted to sources on Western European histoгy of the early Modeгn tirnes: review of the epistolaгy heritage of the Holy Rornan Ernperor Frederick III ( 1415-1493), а rnanuscript collection of the XVI'h century with the privileges of the Polish kings of the XVth-XVI'h centuries frorn the funds of the State PuЬlic Historical Library, review and partial puЫication of letters frorn representatives of the Italian Farnese farnily in the XVIth centuгy, also frorn the collection of N.P. Likhachev, the history of the creation and puЫication of the natural scieпce treatise 1680 "Experirnental Physiology" of Kircher, frorn the funds of the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Libraгy The last, fourth, section of the issue is devoted to the histoгy of soviet historical science iп the 1920'-1940' and is а contribution to the celebration of the 80th anпiversary of Victoгy in the Great Patriotic War.

The third issue of the XLIV volume of “Auxiliary Historical Disciplines” traditionally consists of several thematic sections. The first block is presented by articles devoted to various subjects of Russian history. A.I. Alekseev studied the Chronicler of Karyon Istomin and the historical compilation of the turn of the XVIIth–XVIIIth centuries from the manuscript from the Russian National Library. The article of A.L. Rogachevsky raises questions of historical geography of Smolensk principality. The article by S.N. Iskiul was written on the author’s report “E.V. Tarle about Napoleon,” which was made on November 28, 2024 at a meeting of the Academic council of the St. Petersburg Institut of History, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of academician Tarle. The work of A. Yu. Samarin also reflects the content of his report, prepared at the Vth Conference in memory of N.P. Likhachev, held at St. Petersburg Institut of History in April 14 and 15, 2025. In turn, articles by I.V. Tunkina and E. Yu. Basargina were prepared on the basis of their reports made to the meeting of the Academic council of the St. Petersburg Institut of History on February 4, 2025, which was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople.
The second section of the issue includes materials on Western European history. All three articles published here are devoted to the study and publication of Western European sources from domestic repositories: the collection of N.P. Rumyantsev in the Russian State Library (E.V. Kazbekova), as well as from the collection of P.P. Dubrovsky in the Russian National Library (S.S. Abuzina, A. Yu. Seregina).
The third section of the issue includes one article by A.P. Chernykh, which raises issues of heraldry.
It is dedicated to the Scottish coat of arms of the XVIth century. -

The second issue of volume XLIV of Auxiliary Historical Disciplines contains materials of
the session «Henry de Valois between Poland and France: the temptation of thrones,» which took
place on October 8, 2024 at the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of
Sciences as part of the Third St. Petersburg Historical Forum. The meeting was dedicated to the
450th anniversary of the accession to the French throne of Henry III de Valois in 1574. Most of the
reports are devoted to the publication and analysis of sources of the king’s biography, which are
stored in the archives and libraries of Russia, France and Austria -

The first issue of volume XLIV consists of three sections. The first examines the problems
of dating the Holy Gates of the Yaroslavl Spassky Monastery, analyzes the trust records of the
20–60s of the XVIIth century from the archive of the Tikhvin Assumption Monastery, examines
and attributes a bronze buckle found in the old city of Vereya near Moscow during rescue archaeological excavations in 2021. The second section combines articles on the history of Western and Central Europe from archival collections of Russia: an English document of 1251 – a record of a court decision invalidating the marriage of King Henry III; a unique petition of 1384 addressed to the Pope; as
well as documents telling about the seizure of the island of Corsica by French troops in the middle
of the 16th century. A letter from Prince Dymitr Jerzy Wiśniowiecki to the weavers of the Volyn
city of Dubno 1679 is published. A new source on the history of the campaign is being introduced
into scientific circulation. A new source on the history of Napoleon’s campaign in Russia in 1812
is being introduced into scientific circulation. In the third section, an article was published on metrology, the influence of Roman-Byzantine traditions on the formation of weight systems of the Arab caliphate of the VIIth century -

The fourth issue оf the volume LXIII оf “Auxiliary Historical Disciplines” includes four sections. The first contains materials devoted to the history оf Russia, new data from sources about the famous Moscow bell and cannon master of the 17th century Andrey Chokhov, аs well аs acts оf office work of the 18th century concerning auditors of military courts. The history of the adoption оf the charter of the Russian Geographical Society in the middle of the 19th century is also covered; аn unpublished article by the famous Soviet historian of antiquity of the early 1930s Sergey Kovalev, devoted to the history of antiquity in Russia, is being introduced into scientific circulation. The second section of the volume is devoted to the history оf Western European countries. A convolute from three Paris editions of the turn of the 15th-16th centuries is considered, originating from the collection of Count Dmitriy Mavros (Library of the Russian Academy оf Sciences), аs well аs materials from the French royal police of the 18th century about the visit to Paris оf Princess Ekaterina Dashkova in the winter of 1780-1781. The third section of the volume contains works оn the situation оf the church in Soviet times and during the Great Patriotic War.

The third issue of volume XLIII of the journal «Auxiliary Historical Disciplines» contains researches and publications on four thematic headings concerning Russian and Western European history, mainly the medieval period and the Early modern epoch. Unique publications of documents from the archives of St. Petersburg, Vienna and Danzig are of interest to the community of historians. A special section is devoted to the materials of the scientific session in the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Professor Anatoliy V. Predtechensky (1893–1966). -

The second issue of "Auxiliary Historical Disciplines", Volume XLIII (2024), publishes articles and research materials related to the history of Medieval and Early Modern Russia and France. The first section consists of research materials devoted to the history of Russia a study of the movements of Ivan IV the Terrible throughout his reign, a unique Russian inscription from the second half of the 17th century, new materials about the funeral hall of Peter I from the collection of Nikolay Likhachev.The second section of the issue combines materials related to the history of France. Their focus is on a notarial act related to the humanist of the 16th century Louis le Roy, as well as documents linked to the events of the French Revolution and the Patriotic War of 1812: the first publications of a letter from Louis XVI to diplomat and collector Peter Dubrovsky, and of a fragment of notes by the French general Colbert de Chabanais from a French private archive in France.

Первый выпуск тома XLIII «Вспомогательных исторических дисциплин» содержит исследовательские статьи и материалы по трем тематическим рубрикам, касающимся как российской истории, так и западноевропейского Средневековья и Нового времени. В этих работах затрагиваются вопрось изучения письма средневековых латинских рукописей из Российской национальной библиотеки, дается обзор изданий Библий конца XV — начала XVI в. из собрания Отдела редкой книги Библиотеки Российской академии наук рассматриваются особенности польского книгоиздания XVІ в., публикуются и представляются новые документы по истории Франции и США XVI-XVIII вв. В разделе «In memora» отдается дань научному вкладу известного палеографа и археографа, специалиста по французским рукописям В.Н. Малова.
