Vol. 44 No. 3 (2025)
The third issue of the XLIV volume of “Auxiliary Historical Disciplines” traditionally consists of several thematic sections. The first block is presented by articles devoted to various subjects of Russian history. A.I. Alekseev studied the Chronicler of Karyon Istomin and the historical compilation of the turn of the XVIIth–XVIIIth centuries from the manuscript from the Russian National Library. The article of A.L. Rogachevsky raises questions of historical geography of Smolensk principality. The article by S.N. Iskiul was written on the author’s report “E.V. Tarle about Napoleon,” which was made on November 28, 2024 at a meeting of the Academic council of the St. Petersburg Institut of History, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of academician Tarle. The work of A. Yu. Samarin also reflects the content of his report, prepared at the Vth Conference in memory of N.P. Likhachev, held at St. Petersburg Institut of History in April 14 and 15, 2025. In turn, articles by I.V. Tunkina and E. Yu. Basargina were prepared on the basis of their reports made to the meeting of the Academic council of the St. Petersburg Institut of History on February 4, 2025, which was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople.
The second section of the issue includes materials on Western European history. All three articles published here are devoted to the study and publication of Western European sources from domestic repositories: the collection of N.P. Rumyantsev in the Russian State Library (E.V. Kazbekova), as well as from the collection of P.P. Dubrovsky in the Russian National Library (S.S. Abuzina, A. Yu. Seregina).
The third section of the issue includes one article by A.P. Chernykh, which raises issues of heraldry.
It is dedicated to the Scottish coat of arms of the XVIth century.
