The second issue of volume XLIV of Auxiliary Historical Disciplines contains materials of
the session «Henry de Valois between Poland and France: the temptation of thrones,» which took
place on October 8, 2024 at the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of
Sciences as part of the Third St. Petersburg Historical Forum. The meeting was dedicated to the
450th anniversary of the accession to the French throne of Henry III de Valois in 1574. Most of the
reports are devoted to the publication and analysis of sources of the king’s biography, which are
stored in the archives and libraries of Russia, France and Austria
