The first issue of volume XLIV consists of three sections. The first examines the problems
of dating the Holy Gates of the Yaroslavl Spassky Monastery, analyzes the trust records of the
20–60s of the XVIIth century from the archive of the Tikhvin Assumption Monastery, examines
and attributes a bronze buckle found in the old city of Vereya near Moscow during rescue archaeological excavations in 2021. The second section combines articles on the history of Western and Central Europe from archival collections of Russia: an English document of 1251 – a record of a court decision invalidating the marriage of King Henry III; a unique petition of 1384 addressed to the Pope; as
well as documents telling about the seizure of the island of Corsica by French troops in the middle
of the 16th century. A letter from Prince Dymitr Jerzy Wiśniowiecki to the weavers of the Volyn
city of Dubno 1679 is published. A new source on the history of the campaign is being introduced
into scientific circulation. A new source on the history of Napoleon’s campaign in Russia in 1812
is being introduced into scientific circulation. In the third section, an article was published on metrology, the influence of Roman-Byzantine traditions on the formation of weight systems of the Arab caliphate of the VIIth century
